Pricing and Booking Questions
How the money side works: every price is agreed before a tool comes out of the van, and the payment options are spelled out on the spot.
Call (07) 3522 5623Do you charge a call-out fee?
No, every job comes with $0 call-out fees, there's no extra charge for nights, weekends or public holidays, and you get flat-rate pricing with no hidden fees before any work starts.
How do I get a price before work begins?
We quote at the house, the fixed price is in your hands before any work starts, and nothing hidden gets added to the final bill once you've approved the figure.
What payment methods do you accept?
You can pay by card or EFTPOS on site when the job's done, or ask us about Fix now, pay later, and the full price is settled before we begin.
Are you available on weekends and public holidays?
Yes, we're available 24/7, 7 days a week, with no extra charge for nights, weekends or public holidays, so a licensed plumber can take your call at any hour here.
Services and Scope Questions
Where each job starts and where the boundaries sit between them, from a dripping tap all the way to replacing an entire hot water system.
Call (07) 3522 5623What plumbing services do you offer?
General plumbing like taps, toilets, bathrooms and kitchens, plus gas fitting, leak detection, blocked drains, CCTV drain inspections and hot water repair and replacement, all covered under QBCC No: 15024607.
Can you help with gas fittings and bayonet points?
Yes, we're licensed for gasfitting, from heater bayonet points in older weatherboard houses to appliance connections, repairs and new gas lines in the newer apartment blocks going up around the suburb.
Do you replace hot water systems as well as repair them?
Both, because we repair cylinders, valves and thermostats, and we also size and install replacement systems, which matters in a suburb where one street can hold tanks generations apart in age.
Whose pipe is it when there's a problem?
Urban Utilities looks after the public sewer and water mains, while the pipes on the property side of the connection, fixtures included, are the owner's to maintain and repair as well.
Emergency Plumbing Questions
When to call now and when a booked visit will do, with the make-safe steps worth knowing before you dial.
Call (07) 3522 5623What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water you can't stop, a smell of gas, a burst pipe or an overflowing toilet all count, so turn the water off at the meter or leave the property, then call us.
Can a burst pipe wait until morning?
Not if water is running where it shouldn't, so shut the water off at the meter and call straight away, because a burst flexi-hose upstairs can wet the ceiling below within hours.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Leave the property and call us from outside without flicking switches or lighting any flames, because gas work is never a DIY job and we're available 24/7 to attend at any hour.
Do Kedron's older houses have special plumbing issues?
Yes, the tram-era streets run earthenware drains in short lengths that roots find at the joints, and some unrenovated homes still carry galvanised supply pipes that scale up and restrict flow.
Local Conditions and Warranties
What the suburb's age, soils and storm season do to its pipes, and how the warranty and guarantee sit behind the work.
Call (07) 3522 5623Why do my drains block after heavy rain?
The low streets near Kedron Brook cop run-off from the rises above them, and when the brook stands high after upstream rain, stormwater drains along its edge can back up until the water drops.
Is my hot water system covered by a warranty?
Our labour carries a lifetime labour warranty, every job is done by a licensed plumber under QBCC No: 15024607, and the Fix-It-or-It's-Free guarantee stands behind the work as well, T&Cs apply.
Do you service suburbs around Kedron?
Yes, our regular run covers Chermside, Wavell Heights, Kalinga, Lutwyche and Gordon Park, with the same crew, the same flat-rate pricing and the same licensed plumbers on every job there.
How do I book a plumber in Kedron?
Call (07) 3522 5623 any hour, tell us what's happening at your place, and we'll set a time, with same-day where we can and $0 call-out fees on every job we take.
